About 5 point choice

5 point choice asks for a rating from 1 to 5 in one row of radio buttons. It needs no answer options: the scale is built in. Use it for a quick rating of one thing, for example satisfaction with a service. To rate several things on the same scale, use Array (Point choice).

No answer is added at the end of the row when the question is not mandatory.

Add a 5 point choice question

1. Click the purple + in the top bar. The question type picker opens.

2. Under Single choice, click 5 point choice. The question appears at the end of the current question group.

3. Click Your question here and type your question. Say in the question or in the help text what 1 and 5 mean, for example "1 = very unsatisfied, 5 = very satisfied".

Settings that matter

Select the question to open its settings on the right.

• Mandatory (Simple tab): On requires a rating and removes No answer.
• Use slider layout (Advanced > Display): shows a slider instead of the radio buttons.

How the answers are stored

The answer is the number the participant picked, 1 to 5, or nothing for No answer. Because the values are numbers, you can calculate averages right away after you export your responses.

FAQ

Can I label the points, for example "Poor" to "Excellent"?

Not on this type: it always shows the numbers 1 to 5. For your own labels, use List (radio) or Single choice buttons and type the labels as answer options.

Can I have 7 or 10 points?

Not with 5 point choice. Use List (radio) or Single choice buttons with the number of options you need.
