Overview
Data Policy Settings allow survey administrators to configure the data policy notice shown to participants — from a required acknowledgment to none at all.
Location
Open your survey in the Editor, click the Settings (gear) icon in the left icon rail, then open the Privacy policy section. Changes here save automatically (a "Saved at" indicator appears in the top bar; there is no Save button).
Main Options
1. Show survey policy text with mandatory checkbox
This controls how policy notices appear to participants:
- Don't show: No policy notice displayed
- Show as text: Full policy text displays after welcome message with checkbox below
- Collapsible text: Only checkbox label shows; participants click to reveal full policy
2. Survey data policy checkbox label
Customize the text appearing next to the required checkbox. Default: "To continue please first accept our survey data policy"
3. Survey data policy message
Contains policy details such as data storage location and retention duration.
4. Survey data policy error message
Displays if participants forget to check the policy box.
Policy Link Implementation
To add a hyperlink to the policy, use "Collapsible text" mode and insert {STARTPOLICYLINK} and {ENDPOLICYLINK} placeholders in the checkbox label field.
Note
Even with the "All in one" format, the data-policy checkbox still appears: it is shown on the welcome screen, which is displayed before the single all-in-one page.
