About the free plan
Every new LimeSurvey account starts on the free plan. It costs nothing and has no end date, so you can use it as long as you like. You get the full survey tool: every question type, logic, themes and all languages. The free plan limits only the number of responses, the upload storage and the number of administrators.

When the responses run out
When your 25 responses of the month are used up, participants can't answer your surveys any more, and on the free plan your survey site is locked until the next month. Upgrading lifts the lock. See How responses are counted and what happens at your limit.
Tip: If you expect more than 25 responses, for example for a thesis or a study, upgrade before you start collecting.

Click Upgrade at the top right of your survey site and choose a plan. See Upgrade your plan.

Is the free plan a trial?
No. It has no time limit. You can test LimeSurvey on it and upgrade whenever you need more responses, storage or administrators.
Are any features locked on the free plan?
No. All survey features are available. Only the limits in the table above differ, and services such as the domain alias come with the paid plans.
Is there a limit on the number of questions?
No. You can create as many surveys and questions as you like on every plan, including the free plan. What the plans limit is the number of responses you collect.
What happens when my paid plan ends?
Your account falls back to the free plan. Your surveys and the responses you collected stay. See Cancel your subscription.
