About List (radio)
List (radio) shows the answer options as a list with radio buttons, and participants pick exactly one. All options are visible at once, so it works best for up to about ten options. For longer lists, use Dropdown.
Participants see the tip Choose one of the following answers. No answer is added automatically when the question is not mandatory.
Add a List (radio) question
Click the purple + in the top bar. The question type picker opens.
Under Single choice, click List (radio). The question appears at the end of the current question group.
Click Your question here and type your question.
Click the first answer option and type it. Add answer below the last option adds another one. The red x removes an option, the handle next to it moves it.
Settings that matter
Select the question to open its settings on the right.
- Mandatory (Simple tab): On makes an answer required and removes No answer. Soft asks participants to answer but lets them continue.
- Other (Advanced > General): adds an Other: option with a text field for answers that are not in your list. Label for 'Other:' option and Position for 'Other:' option under Display change its text and place.
- Answer options order (Advanced > Display): shows the options in random order, for example to avoid that the first option gets picked more often.
- Display columns (Advanced > Display): spreads long lists over several columns.
How the answers are stored
The answer is the code of the chosen option, for example A002. The text typed under Other: is stored separately. To see or change the codes, switch on Question codes under View in the ... menu at the top right of the editor.

FAQ
How do I remove "No answer"?
Set Mandatory to On, or turn off No answer for the whole survey under Presentation > Presentation.
Can participants pick more than one option?
No. For several answers, use Multiple choice. If you change the type of an existing question, check its options afterwards: multiple choice uses subquestions instead of answer options.
