About List with comment (Radio)

List with comment (Radio) is a list of radio buttons with a comment box next to it. Participants pick one answer and can explain it in their own words. Use it when the reason behind a choice matters, for example "How did you hear about us?" followed by details.

The comment box has the label Please enter your comment here:.

Add a List with comment question

1. Click the purple + in the top bar. The question type picker opens.

2. Under Single choice, click List with comment (Radio). The question appears at the end of the current question group.

3. Click Your question here and type your question.

4. Click the first answer option and type it. Add answer below the last option adds another one.

Settings that matter

Select the question to open its settings on the right.

• Mandatory (Simple tab): On requires an answer from the list and removes No answer.
• Answer options order (Advanced > Display): shows the options in random order.
• Hide tip (Advanced > Display): hides the tip Choose one of the following answers.

How the answers are stored

The question stores two values: the code of the chosen option, for example A001, and the comment, stored as Q004_comment for a question with the code Q004. Both are columns in the export.

FAQ

Can I have an "Other" option with a text field instead?

Yes. Use List (radio) and turn on Other under Advanced > General. The text field then only belongs to Other:.

Can I change the label of the comment box?

There is no setting for this label. Use the help text of the question to tell participants what to write in the box.
