Copy a Survey

LimeSurvey makes it easy to duplicate an existing survey.

Why Copy a Survey?

  • Reuse a proven structure or question set
  • Create multiple versions for different audiences
  • Preserve the original while testing changes

Steps to Copy a Survey

  1. Go to the Workspace. Open your workspace — it lists all existing surveys.
  2. Select the Survey You Want to Copy. Locate the survey you wish to duplicate. You can use the search bar if you have many surveys. Click the "..." menu on the survey card and select Copy.
  3. Confirm the Copy. A Copy survey dialog opens. Optionally set a New survey title (or leave it blank for an automatic "… - Copy" title), and expand Advanced options to choose which elements to include (resource files, quotas, permissions, answer options, conditions, start/end dates, reset response start ID). Click Copy survey to create the duplicate.

Your duplicated survey will appear in the survey list. You can now edit it as needed without affecting the original.
