About updates

LimeSurvey Cloud is updated by us. You never install an update yourself: your survey site always runs a current, stable version. Because of that, menus and screens can change between versions, and the articles in this help center describe the current version.

Find your version

Log in to your survey site and look at the bottom right of the page. It shows the version, for example LimeSurvey Cloud Version 7.3.0. Mention it when you contact support.

Move to LimeSurvey 7

LimeSurvey 6 on Cloud is supported until 1 November 2026. Sites still on version 6 show Upgrade to version 7 to administrators, and are moved automatically in the first week of November. See Upgrading to LimeSurvey 7: FAQ.

FAQ

Can I import a survey from an older LimeSurvey?

Yes. A survey exported from an older version imports into your survey site. A file from a newer version than your site runs doesn't. See Import a survey.

A screenshot in an article doesn't match my screen. Why?

Check your version at the bottom right of your survey site. The articles describe the current version of LimeSurvey Cloud.

I host LimeSurvey myself. How do I update?

Self-hosted installations are updated by their administrators, with ComfortUpdate or by hand. See the LimeSurvey manual.
